Altar Servers
Altar servers assist the priest and deacon at Mass. Servers must be finishing 2nd grade and have received their First Holy Communion. We provide initial and ongoing training to our servers. Please contact the rectory at 610-857-3510 for more information.
NOTES:
NOTES:
- If anyone has spare albs at home or is in need of a bigger size, please e-mail me so I can arrange to meet and fit you with a new size. Please return any extra albs to the sacristy at OLC. Please put your name on a sticky on the alb so I know who returned it. We could use additional albs in case someone forgets theirs or just for spares. We need sizes 12, 14, 16.
- Please be present AT LEAST 10-15 MINUTES BEFORE THE START OF MASS to light candles and help set up. If you are substituting, please tell the Proclaimer who you are so that he/she can correct the name on the Announcement Sheet to be read before the start of Mass. Please remember, it's your responsibility to find a substitute if you cannot serve your scheduled mass. We cannot have mass without servers. We depend on you to fulfill your assignments.
- Please do not forget to come to the altar together, bow together and leave together when presenting the water and wine at the Offertory and also when Father washes his hands. At the Sign of Peace, please bring the hand sanitizer along with the unfolded finger towel to the priest (and the Deacon) to use. Please do not forget to ring the bells at the proper times. If you forget, it is better NOT to ring them rather than ring them late.
