- Join us Sunday, Sept. 15, 2024 when grades level K-5 year Faith Formation (PREP) will begin from 9:15-10:45 AM.
- Immediately after the 11:15 AM Mass, Sept. 15, 2024 Life Teen begins at the Schneider Parish Center. A BBQ will welcome all high school students to the kick off!
- LTJV will begin Tuesday, Sept. 17, from 6:30 - 8:00 PM at the Schneider Parish Center.
- One8/Confirmation Class should look for the registration form via email. There will be a Parent meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 3, at 6:30 PM at the Schneider Parish Center.

Our Lady of Consolation's PREP (previously know as CCD) and LTJV is a faith formation program for our parish children in grades one through seven (1 - 7) who attend public or non-Catholic private schools. Our faith formation program encompasses preparation for all parish children, including those who are Home Schooled, to receive the sacraments of Reconciliation, Holy Eucharist and Confirmation.
Registration for the 2024 - 2025 academic year has begun. We ask that parents of each child register online (PREP - grades 1 thru 5, LTJV- grades 6 & 7) using the buttons below. Returning families and new families should register. One8/Confirmation Class parent should look for the registration form via email. There will be a Parent meeting for One8 on Tuesday, September 3, at 6:30 pm at the Schneider Parish Center.
Parents are encouraged to renew their own faith foundation by reviewing the grade level information with their children, praying with and for their children and participating in parish life as a family. Parents are expected to attend meetings for their children who are preparing for the reception of sacraments.

CAFÉ: When You Pray
Thursday, September 12, 2024
The Catholic Adult Faith Enrichment (CAFÉ) team is offering a seven-week video series entitled “When You Pray: A Clear Path to a Deeper Relationship with God” beginning Thursday, September 12. The speaker, Dr. Edward Sri, will teach us how to work with God when we pray and will help us give God a greater presence in our lives.
The class meets Thursday evenings from 6:30-8:00 PM in the conference room of the Schneider Parish Center. A Zoom link will be provided for those who prefer to participate remotely.
There is a Study Set for this course, but it is optional. It can be ordered directly from www.ascensionpress.com and costs $26.95 plus shipping. As an alternative, you can purchase Online Video Access for $5.95. This allows you to stream the videos for one year and gives you online access to the workbook.

An Enjoyable Summer Music Night!
Bless all those who came out for the Summer Music Night on Friday, August 16, 2024 -- including those from other parishes!
Musical groups from St. Peter's, West Brandywine, and St. Cornelius, Chadds Ford, performed for those who attended, as did many from our own parish. Groups included our own Music Ministry Director Janeen Walker & Kelly Walker with a variety of covers and Adrianna McCaw, our accompanist, who performed various selections, including one from her new album coming out this Fall.
Julie Bicking, long-time parishioner and OLC Music Ministry member, performed several songs from Adrianna's last album with Adrianna McCaw on piano and Kelly Walker on guitar. Bill Mann, also a member of the OLC Music Ministry for 20+ years, shared his guitar stylings with a few Eagles tunes and one from Neil Young. Redeemed by Grace, consisting of Rick Misak on guitar/vocals, Kirsten Howard on Guitar/vocals and Jay Howard on vocals (both of OLC Music Ministry), performed music from the 60's, 70's & 80's along with contemporary Christian music.
St. Peter's Encore singing group, including Veronique Hadfield and several others, performed Boggie Woggie Bugle Boy and other songs accompanied by pianist/director Kris McGuckin. All the singers, Shannon Feliciano, Rachel Pitt, Keisha Smith Middleton, Susie Dyke, Heidi Blumenstock, and Kathy Prekup, are active in music ministry in area churches with a repertoire that ranges from contemporary sacred music to Broadway and Pop.
The Praise Band from St. Cornelius, including Margie Melchiore, their director of music and deanery 3 music representative for the Association of Church Musicians in Philadelphia, and her team shared many well-known Christian melodies, such as Mighty to Save, and included guitars, drums, keyboard and vocals. These talented and faithful musicians are Nate Salam, Pam Foltz, Kate Carney, Robert Moyer, Tom Dorff, Eli Hunsinger and Ralph DelVecchio with Pam Folz as the original member.
Ultimately an indoor event, the evening of music was lucrative for our new kitchen appliances (stove and refrigerator) at the Parish Center with food available for purchase
as well as donations. And a good time was had by all! Enjoy the pictures of several groups/bands and those who attended!

See Our New Stained Glass Window!

The final stained glass window above the altar at the Schneider Parish Center was unveiled last week.
Created by artistic parishioner Bill Mann, the window beautifully depicts the Assumption of the blessed Virgin Mary and is the final of three stained glass windows representing events in the Virgin Mary's life. Bill has crafted each of the windows, the other two showing the Annunciation to the Blessed Virgin Mary and the Pietà or the Blessed Virgin Mary sorrowfully contemplating the dead body of her son which she holds on her lap. Each year on August 15, we celebrate the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, a Feast Day commemorating when Mary was taken body and soul into heaven after her earthly life was completed. The new stained glass image portrays this event. Thank you Bill for your precious gift! |
Vacation Bible School!
Vacation Bible School for 2024 is a wrap and a great time was had by all!
At OLC-VBS, kids explored God’s goodness and celebrate a fierce faith that powers them through this beautiful life. It was a great way to learn about how much God loves them while providing an opportunity to have fun.
They also had fun with Storytime, Snacks, Music, Crafts and Games. Thank you to all the leaders and thank you to all the kids and parents who attended!

Life Teen Mission Trip
Sunday, July 14, 2024, several of our young people from Life Teen went to Wilmington, DE on their annual Mission Trip sponsored by Catholic Work Camps. Our young people assisted others in need by day and prayed together at night as they grew in the faith they share. This missionary journey was not only a rewarding experience for them, but they had an opportunity to share the love of Jesus with others and with one another. Together, our young people and the adults who accompanied them were able to bear much fruit for the Kingdom of God!
Pray the Rosary
All adults and children are invited to join in praying the Rosary for Peace and Unity in our families, communities, country and in the world Monday evenings at 7:00 PM. All are welcome to join us next Monday.
We meet outside by the Blessed Mother Grotto next to Our Lady of Consolation church and pray the Joyful Mysteries as traditionally said on Mondays. Each week someone will lead the group in prayer. Bring your family and friends. There is strength in numbers!
